NO THANKS!

Sri Lanka, hard hit by the tsunami (and years of civil war before that) had the poor taste to look the gift horse in the mouth. They refused Israel's offer of food and medicine if Israeli military personnel would be on the planes that delivered it. Yes, they were willing to allow their citizens to continue to suffer and die if they had to tolerate the Israeli military being on their soil.

Indonesia's government has done something similar to the US. Our military helicopters and cargo planes were airlifting the wounded from the remotest regions to hospitals (some built and staffed by US military doctors) and flying in food and medicine. Now they have given us a deadline for getting ourselves out of their country. That's right. Their concern for their own suffering citizens is outweighed by their desire to disassociate themselves from the US.

A final example of ingratitude comes from Guantanamo. Many of the captured Afghani and Iraqi fighters have never had access to modern health care. They are receiving the very best medicines and treatments they've ever had from our military doctors. One detainee received $500,000.00 worth of medical care to correct a defect from his childhood. When asked if he would share any information that might help the US in their efforts to combat terrorism his response was immediate and cryptic. He said only, "Death to America."

Please do not fool yourself into believing that these terrorists (I'm beginning to enjoy the term Islamo fascists) will ever be content to coexist with the US or her allies. Evidence of this is seen very clearly in the lack of any gratitude for the aid moneys and aid organizations that come from American citizens, individually and from the American government.

And where is Saudi Arabia? Kuwait? What contribution is coming to these tsunami victims from these incredibly wealthy Muslim states? ZERO. That's right, folks. The Saudi royal family, who can casually spend $35 million dollars a month couldn't find room in their mammoth budget to send ANY money to tsunami victims. I guess I'm misinterpreting the Quran when I read:

"And let not those who hoard up that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty think that it is better for them. Nay, it is worse for them. That which they hoard will be their collar on the Day of Resurrection. Allah's is the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Informed of what ye do."

and

"So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss."

Is there anyone calling out the Saudi's as stingy and greedy? Is there anyone at the UN holding a press conference chiding the Muslim nations in the world for not stepping in and helping the tsunami relief efforts? Why not? Fear of car bombs? Fear of Islamo violence? If so, then they've won.
